Not only are hats stylish, they help protect your hair from the bitter cold.

Fall is here. The time has come to start protecting our skin.
As the woodstoves get lit, furnaces get turned on and the heater in your car gets cranked up, our skin starts to suffer.
Now is the time to start drybrushing with a soft natural fiber brush, loofah or rough towel. The best time to do this is before you jump into the shower. It only takes a couple of minutes but the benefits are numerous: Exfoliated, smoother skin, a boost to the circulation and a jumpstart to the lymphatic drainage and immune system.
Shower in cooler water and moisturize from head to toe.
Make sure you use a good moisturizer on the face, one chosen for your skin type.
Don’t forget to exfoliate and moisturize your lips, especially before you go outside.
Start using a good-quality hand cream to avoid those sore, cracked hands later on in the season.
Don’t forget your feet. Lots of moisturizer and a drop of cuticle oil rubbed into your toenails will get them ready to survive those dreaded boots.
I am heading off to Madrid tomorrow to attend the European spa show so I am handing this week’s column over to one of our senior stylists and colour specialists, Julie Dunlop to give you some advice on haircare for this time of year:
Start caring for your hair now. Don’t wait for winter to hit. Your skin and hair are already being affected by the chill in the air. This is a warning to change your daily routines and incorporate different conditioners and styling products into your repertoires.
Moisturizing daily, whether in the shower or a leave-in, is worth the extra couple of minutes it takes.
Flat ironing less often or getting an extra day out of your style will be beneficial in keeping your hair from drying out.
Moroccan oil is a newer product with rave reviews. It protects your hair and reduces drying time. The added shine is a bonus.
When the chill becomes bitter cold another alternative is to wear a hat. Not only is it stylish and fashionable but is a highly recommended preventative measure against our nasty winter season.
Indulging in a scalp massage, conditioning treatment or a hair facial are perfect moisture remedy services available to you.
Be informed, know the condition of your hair and what you can benefit from.
Do not hesitate to call to book an appointment or consultation with any of Intuitions qualified professional stylists.
