The eyebrow question: how much plucking is too much?

Always tweeze gently, and never use a razor

Q. I am 13 and want to get my eyebrows shaped. Should I?
A. Just tweezing a few stray hairs can make a huge different opening up the eyes and making them pop.
If you have hairs between the eyes (uni-brow) gently tweeze them. The brow should line up with the corner of the eye. Never go in any further than this or it will make your eyes look wide-set.
Never over tweeze. Take your time and never rush this job. It is much better to remove a few stray hairs and wait a couple of days to see how they look.
Remove strays from underneath the brow, giving a clean, well-groomed look. Let the brow extend beyond the outside corner of the eye, where it should taper down slightly.
Check along the length of the hair to see where the root is. Do not go into the actual brow itself or you could end up with tiny bald spots or holes in the brow.
If you have some long hairs, trim them with a pair of nail scissors before you start tweeze.
Never, never use a razor on your brows. It will inevitably end up as a minor tragedy! At the least you will probably want to go into hiding for a couple of days! At the worst they may never grow back again.
Remember less is sometimes best! It can be less painful to tweeze the brows after a shower. This is because the heat and steam will open the pores.
Work where there is plenty of light and you can really see what you’re doing.
Use a good pair of tweezers with a slanted flat tip.
Alternatively, seek out a good esthetician … ask around. Your mom, an aunt or friends may be able to recommend somebody they are happy with a get a professional tweezing or waxing.
Explain that this is your first attempt at a brow shaping. Hopefully you will get good advice and an end result of looking great!
With a good professional job you can often maintain your brows in between visits.
