The beauty of Madrid
I am starting this week’s column, sitting in Frankfurt Airport, in transit from Madrid to Toronto. Cathy, one of our senior stylists; Erica, the spa manager; and myself have just spent a great week in Madrid, attending the Madrid European Spa Show. Just soaking up the culture in Madrid was enough on its own. The fashions in the stores and on the streets were gorgeous.
Informed or in fear?
If you turn on the news or open up the paper, one of two things can happen. You can read the information and feel informed about the news going on in the world or you can read the information and never go outside the house again.

I am writing this story from Scotland while visiting an ecology centre overlooking the Kinghorn Loch in Fife. I just stepped out of a wood stove sauna and I must say that I feel pretty wonderful. This is almost hard to believe considering that I only slept one hour on the plane last night. Saunas are one of my favourite ways to release tension and rejuvenate.
